Damage Coverage Policy
Damage Waiver — not insurance

To keep things simple and deposit-free, every monthly rental includes a small non-refundable monthly Protection Fee. This is not insurance — it is a service charge that funds normal wear-and-tear coverage and the standard warranty service for technical faults (see the Technical Coverage Policy). It does not cover accidental, physical, or liquid damage, which remain your responsibility.
What's covered (absorbed by Gadgetry):
- Normal wear and tear under our Fair Use Policy — the light, expected ageing of a device used carefully for ordinary computing (e.g. minor surface scuffs).
- The standard warranty service for technical/hardware faults that aren't caused by damage (see the Technical Coverage Policy).
Fair Use. "Normal wear and tear" does not include accidental damage, drops, spills, cracks, or damage from misuse — these are your responsibility, even when minor.
What you remain responsible for (charged to you):
- Accidental damage of any kind, including minor accidental damage — this is not absorbed.
- Physical damage — cracked or damaged screen, dents, broken hinges/ports, etc.
- Liquid damage of any kind.
- Loss or theft of the device.
- Damage from misuse, negligence, unauthorised repair, or modification.
- Late return or non-return (late fee of [₹100]/day; non-return billed at the device's replacement value).
How charges are assessed. Our staff inspect the device at return and record its condition with photos. Any chargeable damage is assessed up to the cost of repair, or the device's replacement value if beyond economical repair, and billed via your mandate or a payment link. We will share the assessment and evidence with you before charging.
